Top of the Shelf #5

A weekly meme on the books on the top of my list to read and books recently acquired, borrowed, or bought. Inspired by the Story Siren’s In My Mailbox.

I never seem to be able to read all five books in a week. Will cut down to three. Let’s see how this goes!

Top of the Shelf
What’s next on my to-read list for the upcoming week. To make my to-read list a little more interesting and varied, each of the three books must fall under a certain category:

Bullet Young at Heart – Young adult novel.
Bullet Not Your Sister’s Book – Adult novel that a six-year-old wouldn’t (and sometimes shouldn’t) touch
Bullet Market Fresh – Recently released or soon to be released book.

  • Young at HeartBeautiful Creatures by Kami Garcia and Margaret Stohl. Borrowed from the NYPL ebook library.
  • Not Your Sister’s BookThe Girl With the Dragon Tattoo by Stieg Larsson. I got the ebook from the library for the second one, which means I need to get cracking and read this one now.
  • Market FreshHow to Make a Bird by Martine Murray. Snagged from internship. Never got around to reading last week. Ugh.

Other New Books

  • Notes from the Midnight Driver by Jordan Sonnenblick – Snagged from internship!
  • After Ever After by Jordan Sonnenblick – Sequel to Drums, Girls and Dangerous Pie. So glad to have snagged this! I loved the first book.
  • The Girl Who Played With Fire by Stieg Larsson – Borrowed eBook from the library. Still need to read the first one though!

So much to read! Not enough time!!! What am I to do?

  1. How to Make a Bird is on my wish list– It sounds like a really beautiful book. Plus I totally know how you feel, so little time and so much to read!

I love your category names. :D

  2. I was very very pleasantly surprised at how much I liked Beautiful Creatures. It lived up to the hype, and so much more. I just finished Dragon Tattoo last week, and again, was surprised at how much I enjoyed it. I guess I am just very weary of hyped-up books these days.
