This past Tuesday, I went to the Strand bookstore to attend a reading by David Levithan and Rachel Cohn from their new book DASH AND LILY’S BOOK OF DARES which is now out in stores! I’m a huge Levithan fan so I was very excited! I won an ARC of this book but I haven’t had the chance to pick it up from home yet.
The best part of the reading had to be the fact that the first chapter of the book takes place exactly in the Strand. The Strand has easily become one of my favorite bookstores (second only to Books of Wonder) so it was so fun hearing the characters go through the disarray that is Strand.
Levithan and Cohn also announced the great news that DASH AND LILY is currently in the works of becoming adapted into a feature film! It is currently in the process of being rewritten into a screenplay so it’s definitely too early for any casting.
Thanks to my best friend Alex for snapping a few pictures. I should also mention that he got the coolest thing signed on his copy of DASH AND LILY:
To Alex:
The man!
The myth!
The legend!
I can’t wait to read this book. I’m still in the middle another one, but I hope to get to it by this weekend. I can’t wait to see where in New York Dash and Lily will take me!
