Fall Fashion Fever

One of my favorite things to look out for are the latest ad campaigns in the fashion industry. In my opinion, they are just as exciting as editorial spreads in magazines. A bunch of campaigns for the upcoming season have surfaced on the internet and I wanted to share my favorites.

Tom Ford Fall 2010

First up is for Tom Ford Eyewear (pictured above). Tom Ford almost always makes my list of favorites for each season. I’m so in tune with the designer’s photography and just the way he captures the pictures for every season. The campaign really does make me want to pick up a pair of his expensive glasses. With this season’s campaign, I truly loved the tribute to Alfred Hitchcock’s classic film The Birds. Furthermore, I loved how Freja Beha Erichsen looks in this campaign! I love her hair and the yellow of her dress. I can’t wait to see this one in print and not just from pictures online. It’s never quite the same for me.

Another campaign that I look out for is the Dolce and Gabbana’s menswear campaign. A handful of handsome, well-dressed men. What more could a girl ask for? It was so very difficult for me to pick a favorite out of all the shots in the campaign. I ended up choosing this one because it showed different states of being dressed from partially to fully clothed. I love how the guys in the campaign just look like they’re having fun with each other while hanging out… or in this case, getting dressed.

For the spring 2010 campaign, there was a “making of” video for the ad campaign that showed behind the scenes footage of how they shot it. It was actually really fun to watch to see it all being put together. Again, more attractive men adds to the fun, but it is interesting to watch the people in the campaign come to life in the video, and what the people on set have to do to get those perfect shots. Unfortunately, I don’t think the “making of” video has come out yet for this campaign, if it ever will. Since it is still very early, it probably will surface on the Dolce & Gabbana YouTube channel and for now, all I can do is wait for it to come out.

Haha, I totally agree with you on that!

Personally, I prefer checking out more of the editorials and runway/backstage photos to ad campaigns, but I do enjoy some ad campaigns when I stumble upon them.

I’ve yet to check out the Tom Ford ad campaign you mentioned above, but seeing what you’ve done with the photos from there on your layout, I have a feeling it’s pretty good :)

And I am so in love with your domain, muggle-born! You get all the good names, ever! ;)
