I made this cover for Down the Rabbit Hole’s A Cornucopia of Dystopia contest. I was feeling a little creative this morning so I decided to whip something together. It took a little over an hour and I’m really happy with how it turned out.

I ended up looking through other picture-based YA covers just to get a sense of their composition. I had to alter the picture to make the empty space up top since that seemed to be prevalent in a lot of covers. I was really lucky to have stumbled upon this picture. Thanks to the artist at stock.xchng.
Round 1 of voting begins April 8-15th so keep an eye out for my entry!
I like it, Cialina! keep up the good work! I’ll vote for you!
Haha, thanks Kwame.
Wow, you found the perfect picture! Awesome cover-designing skills ;D
Thanks Linna!
This is such an incredible cover re-creation! I love that picture with the two guys looking over at her and the little saying on the front. Amazing job!
Thanks Amber. I’m so glad that you love it.
I like your cover. The boys on the front looking at her remind me of the story.
Very cool cover re-design! I really like the colour scheme you went with here.
Love your cover so much more! :]
Wow I think your cover is awesome. It really captures the idea of the book, with the guys in the background watching the girl and the girl looking like she is taking a pill. Great job!
Thank you!
I think you should design covers for a living:) This reminds me of the Bitter End cover.

Aw thanks Danna, that’s sweet.
Oh I love it. Why didn’t I see this before? Darn laws of nature any way I love it more than the actual cover I must say. The blurb has more of an impact now that I can actually read it and it goes with the image very well.
