3rd Annual Teen Author Fest at Books of Wonder

Author signings are exhausting! Especially this one at Books of Wonder. I’ve been to their events in the past, but with the exception of Mockingjay’s release party, I’ve never seen the store so hectic! The 3rd Annual Teen Author Fest at Books of Wonder was the finale of a week-long event throughout New York City. I was caught up in a lot of studying this past week, so unfortunately, I couldn’t make any of the other events. Still, the signing was the one event I vowed to attend exactly a year ago when I had missed out on last year’s. The signing featured 45 different teen authors from Maggie Stiefvater to David Levithan.

My best friend, Loreal, went to the event with me. This was her first time at an event at Books of Wonder; unfortunately, last minute circumstances prevented her from attending in the past. Having a friend along made the event a lot more fun since we were able to gush about authors the whole time we were there.

Anyways, enough with the rambling….

Clockwise: Maggie Stiefvater, Sarah Darer Littman, David Levtihan

I got a total of 5 books signed for myself and two gifts for others! The books I had signed were: Linger by Maggie Stiefvater, Life After (ARC) by Sarah Darer Littman, The Lover’s Dictionary by David Levithan, Clarity by Kim Harrington, and Prom & Prejudice by Elizabeth Eulberg. I haven’t read Clarity or P&P yet, but I’m very excited to start them based on what I’ve heard.

Lore & I had a blast. We ended our afternoon in a very bookish way by catching a screening of Jane Eyre at a local theater.

Mini Update: Yeah, I’m lagging on the reviews… I have one last midterm on Wednesday, so hopefully I should be able to get more reading done, but on top of internship and other school reading, I can’t make any guarantees. I will have my review on Maurissa Guibord’s Warped posted this week! :) I just finished the other night, so I will write it up soon.

    1. Yup, the event was awesome. Thanks. :)

Thanks for letting me know! I’ll stop by and fill out the form again tonight.

  1. Wow! That’s great you get to meet them, take pictures with them, AND get books signed! They need more of these signings near where I live and on weekends. :( I think there’s an author signing this coming Thursday night…that I’m trying to go.

But anyways, looking forward to all those reviews. I’m especially interested in The Lover’s Dictionary! :)

    Happy reading!

    1. I hope you do get to go on Thursday! I’ll be crossing my fingers for you. The Lover’s Dictionary isn’t really YA, but I will review it, I think. :) Thanks for stopping by Ivy.

  2. i am so jealous right now. i’ve always wanted to go to a signing, or meet an author but unfortunately the only time one came to my town was last summer while i was on vacation.

  3. eek! That looks like so much fun, and I’d fall over if I’d ever get to meet David Levithan, he just seems like such an amazing guy :) Love the post and the pics!

  4. I went to this last year, but due to a lot of grad school homework, I didn’t go this year. I really wanted to go to some of the events during the week, especially since some of the authors I work with were participating. But sadly, school and work got in the way. I love that David Levithan started doing this yearly teen festival though.

    1. Oh man! :/ Well, there’s always next year! I hope you can make it then. :) I was hoping to go to the events during the week as well, but I was in the middle of midterms.
