I’m really proud of myself for reading and finishing a non-academic related book this week! I’ve been struggling to juggle school work with reading for fun, but I finally decided to just sit and read this past Friday. THE CITY OF EMBER has been one of those books that have been sitting in my to-read pile for years. I finally got around to it. I borrowed it from the eBook library from the New York Public Library and read it on my Nook.
Book Summary: The city of Ember was built as a last refuge for the human race. Two hundred years later, the great lamps that light the city are beginning to flicker. When Lina finds part of an ancient message, she’s sure it holds a secret that will save the city. She and her friend Doon must decipher the message before the lights go out on Ember forever! This stunning debut novel offers refreshingly clear writing and fascinating, original characters.
