Ahoy, there!

Muggle-Born.net is a blog mostly on young adult book reviews. My name is Cialina, and I am a college student living in New York City. I love Harry Potter, coffee, and bookstores.

I am not accepting review requests for Muggle-Born. I am only accepting requests for Postscript'd. I do not accept titles from self-published authors and have no plans to do so in the future. For more on my review policy and rating system, click here.

What’s Digging Through the Stacks? This is just some of the highlights I’ve encountered while digging through my Google reader feed, YouTube, Goodreads, and Twitter. These are posts by other fellow bloggers (mostly) that you should probably check out.

I slacked off last week and I didn’t finish writing up the post. It’s a shame to scrap it entirely so here’s two weeks worth of posts.

Reviews Worth Reading

Convincing, entertaining, well-written or all of the above, these reviews are worth your time.

I love this absolutely fantastic and very detailed review of Don’t You Wish by Roxanne St. Clair at words like silver.

Every time I read a stellar review praising Code Name Verity by Elizabeth Wein, like the one at Turn the Page, it makes me even more excited to pick it up.

This review at Redhead Heroines of Amplified by Tara Kelly leans on the negative side, but it is so well written.

Maybe it’s the fact that I’m learning about epidemics this semester… but this review of Deadly by Julie Chibbaro at Supernatural Snark has me a little curious.

Down the Rabbit Hole prepares readers exactly what to expect in Lisa McMann’s latest, Dead to You.

What caught my eye on GoodReads and was added to the pile. After all the award buzz about this book, I just have to pick it up! … Eventually.

MadappleMadapple by Christina Meldrum

THE SECRETS OF the past meet the shocks of the present.
Aslaug is an unusual young woman. Her mother has brought her up in near isolation, teaching her about plants and nature and language—but not about life. Especially not how she came to have her own life, and who her father might be.

When Aslaug’s mother dies unexpectedly, everything changes. For Aslaug is a suspect in her mother’s death. And the more her story unravels, the more questions unfold. About the nature of Aslaug’s birth. About what she should do next.

About whether divine miracles have truly happened. And whether, when all other explanations are impossible, they might still happen this very day.

Addictive, thought-provoking, and shocking, Madapple is a page-turning exploration of human nature and divine intervention—and of the darkest corners of the human soul.

Madapple was recommended to me by an editor at Random House. I’ve never heard of this one before but it sounds interesting!

Terrific Trailers

This trailer convinced me to add the book to my TBR pile!

This book looks so awesome!!! And this is another case where the trailer convinced me to pick up a book that I have previously looked over.
